How to prepare for your first Dachshund?
Before you bring your first dachshund home, there are a few things you need to check:
- Puppy Food
- Food bowls
- Water bowls
- ID Tag
- Grooming equipment
- Dog bed
The home needs to be very safe for the new puppy you are going to bring. Lock away all the household chemicals, such as fertilizer, sharp objects and electrical cords. Make sure the puppy cannot go to the pool, and if possible to erect a fence.
Meet the breeder
Purchase the dachshund puppy from a registered breeder. Ask a few questions to them:

2. Is the puppy social?

3. Has the puppy had vaccinations?

4. Have any of the puppies in the litter been sick?
A: If the answer is yes, were they diagnosed and treated well?
5. What is the puppy being fed?
